In S.C.’s indictment that appeared in the media today, there is only one line at the very end about me and that read as follows: The Bergama gold mining plant,which the Kozaİpek group got its hands on,the group which is in the hands of ‘Cemaat’ has started operations.

You will be embarrasssed if you start making claims about matters that you know nothing about. Let me explain:

 1.The Kozaİpek Group has belonged to the Koza family for 70 years. Make a mental note of that.

2. Newmont operated the Bergama plant until 2004 as planned and processed all the gold ore it planned to.

Some media outlets have published some news that an indictment in which I am named, alongside others, has been sent to the Ankara Court of Assize (the Crown Court). They don’t show the indictment to the people who are named in it. How on earth do these media outlets get hold of them, my friend?

In fact, I do wonder about the file.  It’s impossible not to wonder, how they have linked together people who haven’t even had a traffic fine.

These explanations are ones that have been published for years and officially announced, and can be viewed by the public. They are explanations that are shown in our financial tables.

The SPK (Capital Markets Board of Turkey) Criminal Complaint 3: THE BONUSES PAID TO THE BOARD MEMBERS ARE VERY HIGH. THERE ARE TRANSFERS OF DISCRETIONARY INCOME.

My Answer: There is a clear regulation that specifically deals with this matter. When there is a legal regulation it is against reason, logic and the law to look for an unknown counterpart. You cannot claim that an action is a crime when itabides by the law and when it is done lawfully.

THE POLICY DECISION ON PROFIT SHARING WAS MADE AND ANNOUNCED EIGHT YEARS AGO IN KOZA’S GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND WAS PUT ON THE WEBSITE AND HAS BEEN A PERMANENT FEATURE THERE.
