After the police raid, we reproached the officials from MASAK, (the Financial Crimes Investigation Board), the Ministry of Finance and the SPK (Capital Markets Board of Turkey), all of whom we realready stationed at the companies and had already done a few rounds of inspections and who, incidentally,were raided with us by the police. We asked them,  Why was the police raid necessary? You were already here.

What document did you want that you didn’t get from us?

THEY DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE RAID.  The MASAK team, appointed by the Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office in 2014 as the official expert witnesses to investigate us did not know about the raid.

All the incredibly detailed documentation that the MASAK team and the Ministry of Finance team had asked for,had already been submitted to them on time and the inspection was coming to an end.

It is understood that the reason for the court’s decisionto proceed with the raid, was not the report from MASAK, as no one had as yet seen this report.

To this day, no one knows who made the slanderous accusations thatcaused the raid.

After the raid, the Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office made an announcementon the strength of information that I believe they were wrongly provided with.

The announcement, which came as an official news bulletin to the public,stated that gold had been found atthe KozaIpek headquarters and that documents regarding donations (himmet) had been seized.

In Fact,

The documents that were seized were recorded by both parties and no gold whatsoever was seized.

And the donation (himmet) documents mentioned could only have been the documents regarding our Himmetdede mining plant.

AFTER ONLY A SHORT TIME, IT CAME TO LIGHT THAT NO GOLD HAD BEEN FOUND AT THE HEADQUARTERS AND THE DOCUMENTS MENTIONED BELONGED TO THE HIMMETDEDE MINING PLANT.
